This Canadian speedster had a phenomenal 2004 season which saw him earn redemption for an injury-plagued year in 2003. With victories sprinkled throughout the year, Charles' season was capped by his dramatic victory at the T-Mobile International in September where he attacked the last time up Taylor Street and soloed to victory. With that win, Charles became the first ever two-time winner of the race; his 2004 win followed up his breakout victory in 2002 that earned him the VeloNews “North American Ride of the Year” award. In 2005, Charles is looking forward to the continued support of his teammates as he looks for the trifecta come September in San Francisco.
