Use recycled canvas bags for grocery shopping rather than plastic. Avoid printing out emails and copy out important information into my diary. Recycle all used plastic containers and waste paper. Name: Helen Kelly

Residence and Home Town: Melbourne, Australia

Years Racing: 8

Years on Webcor: 1

Top reason for joining Webcor: I wanted to ride for a professional and organized outfit with a group of highly talented and easy-going teammates.

Tell us about your background and goals – both on and off the bike?
I grew up on a 5,000-acre Australian sheep farm and had a childhood filled with riding horses, helping in the shearing shed, and playing many sports.
The sports I played during high school included swimming, track and field, high jumping, cross country skiing, field hockey, badminton, tennis, softball, netball, basketball, and cross-country running.

I spent a year as an exchange student in France and can now speak fluent French and understand basic German.

I started doing a few triathlons in 1997 and in 1999 represented Australia in the Triathlon World Championships in my age group in Montreal, Canada.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce degree and am a qualified CPA. I have been working with an International Accounting Firm, KPMG, since 1994; they have sponsored and supported me in my cycling career.

I married my solemate, Bob, in 2000, and he convinced me I had the talent to become a professional cyclist.

My first goal in cycling was to join a professional team. Next, it was to represent Australia at the world championships, which I did in both 2005 and 2006. My goal in 2007 is to be an integral member of the Webcor team, helping us achieve our personal and team goals . I am also striving to gain selection for the World Road Championships in Stuttgart. In 2008, I hope I will be considered for the Australian team to compete in the Beijing Olympic Games.
