Tell us about your background and goals – both on and off the bike?
I came to the sport of cycling from a competitive swimming background. Through dedication to high school studies and sport, I graduated valedictorian and earned an athletic scholarship to Stanford University. I was sidelined by shoulder injury after three years. Later, I joined the Stanford Cycling Team, where my love for the sport developed. Through devoted training, I earned two individual National Collegiate titles in 2005. The same year, my USCF category upgraded from 4 to category 1. With 29 career race wins under my belt, I look forward to an injury-free season to continually progress under the guidance of my coach, Linda Jackson, and the phenomenal folks at Webcor.

Off the bike, I earned a B.A. in Human Biology (focus: marine biology and environmental policy) and an M.S. in Earth Systems (focus: environmental systems and oceanography) from Stanford University. I currently conduct research at Stanford through the Environmental Venture Program of the Woods Institute for the Environment, specifically on a quantitative natural resource ethics project, a novel collaboration among climate scientists, economists, philosophers, ethicists, and political theorists.
