Use travel coffee mug daily and use goldtone filter for coffee maker instead of paper. Have fully electronic medical records to use at my clinic (no paper charts). Usual curbside recycling (could improve above the Sunnyvale pick-ups, though).

Tell us about your background and goals – both on and off the bike?
Upon graduating from Stanford University School of Medicine, I completed a Medicine residency and a postdoctoral fellowship in Rheumatology, also at Stanford.  In 2006, I began working as a rheumatologist at the Palo Alto Medical Clinic.  Winning the 2004 US National Time Trial Championships earned me a spot on the US Olympic Team. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, I placed 4th in the individual time trial and 15th in the road race.

In 2005, I opened the season with an overall win at the Redlands Bicycle Classic. To complement the win, I was honored with the Carole King Award for outstanding sportsmanship. Mentoring younger riders is very important to me. With wins in the Nature Valley Grand Prix and the International Tour de ‘Toona, I wrapped up the title of Best Individual Rider in the Women's Prestige Series.

In 2006, the Webcor women continued their stage racing success by winning the Grand Tour du Montreal over German powerhouse teams Nurnberger and T-Mobile.  I concluded the season with a career best Bronze medal performance in the World Championship Time Trial.  I still have my eyes on the top prize in the World Championships!

I've been privileged to represent our sponsors at events such as the PowerBar Nutritional Panel at InterBike as well as speaking at several professional medical conferences for continuing medical education on "Training for Performance."
