Originally from a little village in the English Cotswolds, I moved to California in 1992 from Sydney with future husband, Chris. I was introduced to mountain biking, and with a dodgy old bike, and some even dodgier attire, I took up racing in the hope of winning some “better gear." Fortunately that’s what happened, and within a few months, I found myself on the British roster for the 1993 World Mountain Bike Championships in Metabief. However, dreams to become a professional mountain biker came to a halt after suffering an injury to my knees early the next season. Unable to ride a bike without re-injury, I changed my focus to a photographic business, setting up a commercial studio in San Francisco.
In 2002 I decided to give up photography to have more time with my two daughters. With time on my hands, I began to gradually ride a bike again, this time focusing on the road. I entered, and won, my first race at the end of 2002 and once again dared to dream of being a bike racer.
Since then I have completed five racing seasons. Career highlights include several top 10 NRC finishes, my favorites being 7th in the 2006 US Elite National Time Trial Championships and 2nd to Kristin Armstrong in the Cascade Classic Time Trial the same year.
I live in the hills above Woodside, CA with my husband, two daughters, and dogs – Monkey and Mojo. Other interests include snowboarding, cross country skiing, and architecture.
