Avery demonstrates that flexibility is an important part of fitness
At left we see Avery proving that she can carry heavy loads under pressure (in her cool Patagonia and Kaenon gear). Next we see her demonstrating that flexibility is an important component of fitness. Click on each photo to see a larger view.

Top reason for joining Webcor: An opportunity like this just doesn’t come around every day, or every lifetime for that matter.

How do you Go Green? In the summer I primarily use my bike, or my Vespa LX 150 (65 MPG!) for all my commuting. In the winter, when New England renders me quite cold on two wheels, I drive my car, doing gas guzzling speeds only when absolutely necessary. Buying local groceries, laundry on the clothes line, gardening, composting, boiling water on the wood-burning stove – these are also some ways that I go green.

I have been an athlete and a cyclist my whole life, but didn’t really get immersed into the spandex loving, coffee drinking, group riding culture until 2006 when I was brought to the dark side through my friends (thanks Jenn and Andy!) Fortunately, it immediately took over my life in the best of ways. To me, cycling + massage therapy equals the perfect marriage of pain and pleasure. I love working on cyclists in particular, one because they all shave their legs, and two because I know the work I’m doing will cause their legs to climb better, their mind to think more clearly, and their energy to be used more efficiently, all of which is the perfect recipe for being able to cross the finish line at the front of the pack. My goal for this season on Webcor is to help each of the riders achieve their personal best, and hopefully that includes winning too!

I own a growing massage therapy practice in Winsted, CT. When I’m not working, I have access to some amazing road and mountain biking terrain, which is where I can be found. I am an aspiring racer (at the amateur level) and hope to get out of my category 4 status as soon as possible. I also hope that my massage therapy practice will continue to grow into working specifically with cyclists (again, the shaved leg factor is a plus!) and other athletes. I’m very honored to be working with the women of Webcor, as each rider is truly inspiring.
