How do you go green? We recycle anything the county will take; we compost all possible garbage for the vegetable garden (even including shredded paper); Ron is refurbishing the barn using original materials, i.e., removing old boards from the walls to construct custom shelving; I cart off unwanted but useable items to Good Will; we heat our house mainly with a pellett stove; and I use my bicyle to run errands when possible.

I've been the WebcorCycling webmaster since 2005 (with a year off in 2006) and what a fun job it has been! I get to keep close tabs on the amazing group of women who make up the team and I get to work closely with the team management, in particular, two more amazing women – Karen Brems and Patt Baenen. I also assist Patt with the website part of her business, Scaled-Up Productions.

Back in 1996, Patt and I joined the Alto Velo Bicycle Racing Club (sponsored principally by Webcor Builders) and life hasn't been the same since. In short, bike racing IS my life now. Luckily, my husband Ron shares my passion, and weekends will find us traipsing up and down the great state of California (and sometimes beyond) seeking out the best masters competition available. And it is fierce. You wouldn't believe it unless you experienced it up close yourself. Over the past 12 years, we've slowly clawed our way up from OTB (off the back) to the front, or at least near the front, of the peloton.

In 2006 I retired from a long career as an administrator at Stanford University, and started a fitness business, aptly named High on Fitness. Ron and I recently left the over-crowded San Francisco Bay Area to reside in the magnificent Sierra Foothills. Ron is tilling the land, his other passion, while I continue to tap away on my laptop and also build my personal training business here.
