| The mold was broken after this engine was built. John possesses a frighteningly powerful motor that allows him to feel at home on the flats, in the mountains, or driving a break or a chase for his teammates. He began devoting himself to racing in 1999 after receiving a B.S. in Physics from Princeton University. He spent 2000 and 2001 criss-crossing America as a race-to-live, live-to-race amateur, achieving some remarkable results, including a silver medal in the Individual Pursuit at the National Championships in 2000. In 2002, he travelled across the pond and raced for a Hungarian-based team sponsored by Mapei. Weary of the rigors of life so far from home, John joined the Webcor Builders in 2003, where his power over the long haul carried him to multiple victories, including the California Championship Road Race. Holder of a B.A. in physics, John is a cartographer for Contra Costa County. |
